Your Life or Your $$???
One errie night, while walking home alone along a quiet and dimly lited street, you are suddenly grabbed from behind... The sauve assasin then cooly pointed a sharp parang @ ur throat and asked you in a very polite and kind manner :"Please hand over all your valuables or else..." Will you hand over your valuables? or will you retaliate to save ur $$??
This is not an IQ/personality test question or a sceen from crime watch/old movie... nor issit the topic i wanna discuss todae but it is similar to what all of us are bothered with every single day of our lifes... Your life?? or Your $$??...
death| told me he was low on morale yest and wanted to meet up wif me todae... I was thinking what a guy wif no gf, earning 2 or 3 or 4 times more $$ then me as a freaking successful financial advisor unhappy abt? So we met up @ orchard and guess what? All he wanted was to go for our male retail theraphy sessions which we have not done for quite a few monthes already and end off with a nice dinner before goin to meet his client @ nite...
The "problem" that was troubling him was that he has been working non-stop for the past 2 weeks and even though he is earning $$, he didn't have a "life". 2 weeks without goin out for a person who used to go clubbing 2 or 3 times a week is rare indead and is sapping the life out of him so much so that when he clams when he went to the office yest. his face was so black that none dared to talk to him and he is also sick of eating mixed vegetable rice almost everyday for the past 2 weeks...So we went to look look ard and ended our day by having sushi @ sakae(wheelock)...
A collegue @ office is also claiming the same thing coz everytime while we have a movie outing, she is on her way to teach tuition after work and she has yet to attend any of the movie outings so far... She claims that she got no "life" and we are having a more exciting life compared to her work work work go home work work work lifestyle even though she's earning $$ while we are losing ours...
She even took no pay leave tmr just so that she can get the "long weekend" to compansate for the "long weekend" that we did not get last week as we also have to work on PH if our shifts fall on that day... However her good friend from the office next door would rather work on PH for the 2X pay instead of having the "long weekend" Hmmm...
Humans are complicated and demanding people... the ideal situation is of coz to be jobless, have shitloads of $$ and just enjoy life but how many of us have reached that stage or will ever reach that stage?? For me i don't think i will ever reach that stage untill maybe i'm old, hagged and happily retired..
To me balancing "life" and $$ is an everyday challenge... For both to co-exist is virtually impossible... If you want life you have to sacrifice $$.. If you want $$ ur "life" have to go... It all depends on your priorities @ the moment and how you define "life"... To some people it is to visit all countries in the world for others it is to just to go out wif a few pals and catch a movie after a hard day's work...
To summerize it all your definition of "life" will determine hw much $$ u need and seriously you really dont need lots of $$ just to have a "life"... So back to the first question... what will you choose?
